I assume that you are using Microsoft Outlook. It appears that there is no
way around this in Outlook. The following KnowledgeBase article explains
that this is by design.

Neither Eudora nor Mozilla (Thunderbird, at least) have this problem. If
switching to individual emails isn't an option for you and you can't change
your mail reader, then you may also want to try reading the list on-line at
welovegod.org/groups/churchbass/. The user id is "cb", no password.
