Colossians 1:15 – 20 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross." ESV
In our world there are many, MANY things. LOTS of "STUFF"
Some of the STUFF we see and acknowledge
Ground, rocks, animals, people, cars, buildings, chairs, etc
Some of the STUFF we see and don't even think about or notice
Cobwebs and dust bunnies (until they get huge), electrical and phone wires, stuff in the corner, etc
Some of the STUFF we don't see and acknowledge
Strong wind, train whistles, etc
Some STUFF we don't we and do not acknowledge
Faith, Hope, Love; an expected kindness, a smile, a kind word, How God moves and works in our lives
So much STUFF! Trillions and GAZILLIONS of bits of matter scattered all over our planet in various forms and shapes.
Where did all of this STUFF – VISABLE and INVISABLE – come from?
Jesus.
This week our VBS kids will here about all of this in 5 Bible Studies through class, music, crafts, snacks and recreation.
Under God's guidance we will help them realize their need for Jesus in all of their life and to see Him in all things…visible and invisible
They will see Jesus IN THE BEGINNING
They will see that GOD IS STILL IN CHARGE
They will see that GOD SENT JESUS
They will see that GOD HAD A PLAN FOR JESUS
They will see that GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US
They learn WHO JESUS IS through their lessons and THROUGH OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Who is Jesus?
1. He is the image of the invisible God
2. The First Born
3. He is Creator
a. Of All things
i. In heaven
ii. On earth
iii. Visible
iv. Invisible
v. Thrones
vi. Dominions
vii. Rulers
viii. Authorities
b. ALL things were created BY Him
c. ALL things were created FOR Him
4. He is FIRST in ALL things
5. He is the SUPER GLUE
a. Holds all things together
6. Head of the church
a. Great Shepherd
7. Carrier of the FULLNESS of God
8. The ONLY ONE who can bring reconciliation to man
9. The ONLY ONE who can give us PEACE
a. Through His shed blood
Today, do you hear Jesus calling to you?
To put back together the broken, work and frayed parts of your life?
To bring the restoration and hope you have been looking for so long?
To give you peace?
He is here for you and wants to give you His gift of GRACE and MERCY….that most precious gift paid for by His Shed Blood on Calvary's Cross.
