Our church, Metro Life, hosted the Contending 07 Christian worldview conference this past weekend. All of the audio files and a PDF file with the notes are now available for free download. If you click on the following link and choose the bottom option, you will download a zip file containing everything, or you can do it "a la carte" if you wish.

Contending 07 was inspired by the appeal given in Jude 3, "Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints."

Brent Detwiler, a pastor from North Carolina who oversees the southeast region for the Sovereign Grace Ministries group of churches, taught 6 sessions of the conference on Friday and Saturday, as well as a 7th message during the Sunday Service. My husband and four teenage daughters had the privilege of attending the conference, and I got to hear the Sunday sermon. I must say I have been blessed every time I've heard Brent speak over the past few years.

Each session was designed to provide a solid biblical foundation to these important doctrines:

Seven Things You Must Know About the Bible

Is Jesus Really the Only Savior?

Is Jesus Really God Incarnate?

Counterfeit Claims

Proclaiming the Unknown God

These topics were chosen especially to help parents face the common challenges in preparing teens for the objections, persecution and doubts they are, or will be, facing. You and your teens will benefit immensely from this diligent study of Scripture. I encourage you to download and listen to these files, or at least look through the conference notes!
