dead guitars aren't much fun

Got to church yesterday, plugged in and the Parker coughed and died. It
sounded very distorted. bypassed the digitech pedal still distorted.
Switched off the piezo - if it was the battery that should have cleaned
it up but didn't. This happened a couple weeks ago when the nut came off
the jack. I pulled the jack and put it back together and it straightened
up. I took it apart yesterday and couldn't find a loose wire on the jack
but it didn't straighten up. Is it more likely the jack, wiring, or pc
board? If it is the stereo jack would any guitar shop be able to fix it?
