I found a pair of books on sale at CBD called Dearest Dorothy, Are We There Yet and Dearest Dorothy, You're Wearing Us Out!  I bought these with my mom in mind.  The main character is "Partonville's irrepressible octogenarian and the spunkiest lady in town."  I have read the first book and while it is cute and readable, it is a bit "flat."  The characters are one dimensional and the story line runs thin.  I am sure I will read the 2nd book -- it's here and I like to give 2nd chances!  I think the idea behind these has great merit, they just need to be developed a bit more.
