"Do You Believe?"
1 Corinthians 1:18-21; Hebrews 10:38-39, 11:1, 6
Intro. The Scripture tells us in--John 3:16For God so loved the world that
he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life." The key word in that verse is "Be-
lieveth". Belief is essential to salvation! Without belief no one is saved!
The word believe in the text we read comes from the Greek word
Pisteuo and means to trust, rely on and to place confidence in.
The words believe and faith are companions and go hand-in-hand
together.
We may have a "head" knowledge of Jesus Christ, but until we have a
"heart" knowledge of Him, we have believed in vain. It tells us in the
text we read in Hebrews 11:6But without faith it is impossible to
please him: For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that
he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Do you believe in
Jesus today?
Do You Believe? :
(1) Jesus Saves
A. ONLY HE CAN SAVE US FROM DESTRUCTION (Acts 4:7-12; Luke 19:1-10).
B. ONLY HE CAN SATISFY GODS DEMAND (Isaiah 53:4-11; Romans 6:23).
(2) Jesus Shall Judge All Men
A. THE SON WILL JUDGE WITH POWER (John 5:19-24; Romans 2:16).
B. THE SON WILL JUDGE ALL PEOPLE.
1.The Lost (Revelation 20:11-15).
2. The Saved (2 Corinthians 5:9, 10).
(3) Jesus Shall Reward The Faithful
A. OUR WORKS WILL BE REVIEWED (1 Corinthians 3:9-15).
B. OUR WORKS WILL BE REWARDED (Matthew 16:24-27).
(4) Jesus' Second Coming is Near
A. HE WILL COME UNEXPECTEDLY (Matthew 24:35-44).
B. HE WILL COME UNDENIABLY (Matthew 25:1-13).
Closing: Do you believe Today? Have you ever placed your trust in the One
that died for you?
Christian, Do you believe that Jesus shall reward us for faithful
service? If so, why not serve Him more today? The Lord promises in
REVELATION 22:12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward
is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
