Purse
One Sunday morning after church I was talking to a friend
whom I hadn't seen in some time. We chatted our way out
to the parking lot before I remembered I had left my purse
in the church pew.
Returning to it, I found the purse gone.
The minister, seeing me from his open office door, walked
out with my bag in his hand.
”I thought I'd better put it in here for safekeeping," he
said. "You never know—someone might consider it an answer
to prayer."
