Hi. My DR "handle" is Dariel, the Aged. My "real" name is David
L. Milner, though most folks call me Dave...among other things.I am 50-something, am a pastor of a _very_ small church in a poor
area of Pueblo, Co. I have been married to a _very_ long-suffering woman
named Diana for 30 yrs. I hold a B.A. from John Brown University in
Arkansas, an M.Div. from Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, and
am currently two or three semesters away from a B.L.A. from the Univ. of
So. Colorado. I was born and raised in the Atlanta, Georgia area.My favorite music is eclectic, from Classical (Bach, Beethoven,
Mozart, Copland) to Amy Grant, M.W. Smith, Petra, anything Celtic,
Hebraic, or Russian, etc...Favorite Movies include Gone With The Wind, (obligatory for
anyone from Atlanta), Braveheart, Casablanca, and Mr. Holland's Opus.I write and compose music and musicals, including one based on
DR, do some musical arranging, wote a Christmas piece based on
"Hatikvah", the Israeli National Anthem, have composed a Festival of
Spirituals, including classical music themes, a musical based on the life
of Christ, but setting it in the Old West, and am currently writing an
opera based on Calvin Miller's "The Singer". It will be called
"StarSong".I have two biological children and one foster son. My bio. son,
James, is a student at John Brown Univ. studying Construction
Management, my daughter, Patricia, is a Theater Major at Sterling
College in Kansas, and my foster son, Terry G. Johnson, hopes to go to
Sterling next year, having finished courses at Pueblo Community College.
I have one natural (Kayla) and one foster (Trisha) granddaughters, who
are, of course, the most wonderful children on earth, four dogs, one cat,
and ride a motorcycle. (1981 Yamaha 920 Virago)Favorite books include "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy, anything by
C.S. Lewis, Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle and Song of Albion Trilogy, and
have discovered a couple of newer writers, Byron Huggins and Paul Meier,
the latter having written "A Skeleton In God's Closet" which I highly
recommend, despite it's similarity in ending to Irving Stone's "The
Word", and Tom Clancy, which Huggins' writing resembles. Oh, and
anything at all by Peretti. I'm still waiting for him to write another
book to complete a trilogy from "This Present Darkness".I discovered DR in a Christian Bookstore in Buffalo, NY about 15
yrs. ago, bought it on a whim, and was captivated by it. So were a bunch
of inner city kids who begged for two hours of Sunday School so they
could play more often. They would have played 40 hrs a week if they
could have. When they get together, that's still what they talk about.I'm sure that's more than you ever wanted to know, but, WHOMP!
there it is!For the Kingdom and the Overlord,
