DREAM of A WHIRLWIND
by Bryan HuppertsGod often speaks to me in dreams. This is quite biblical but you
have to learn to discern what is from God, and what is from pizza.
When God speaks in a dream, it often comes with great authority,
it always honors the Lord Jesus, it agrees with the Word of God,
and in many instances, the Bible records that people who had
these sort of spiritual dreams immediately woke up after having
them. Allow me to relate a spiritual dream. In my dream, I was standing in the yard of a carnal minister of
Christ who simply wouldn't step out and do the things God had
called him to do. He was resentful of those God set to labor with
him often resorting to slandering people in his church. Over a
period of years, most of the leaders in this church had finally left
in anger, disgust, or tears. The work was dying a death of neglect. While in this dream, there was a whirlwind blowing in this man's
yard with all sorts of scraps of paper blowing about. There was
a man dressed in white standing in his yard spearing what I first
thought was trash blowing about this whirlwind and collecting
them into a bag. Immediately, I perceived that the man who was
spearing these scraps of paper was none other than the Lord Jesus. The dream was somber, and sad, and it had the quality of spirit
like you would find at the funeral of an unsaved person. I walked
over to the Lord in the dream and grabbed the end of the spear
which had two pieces of paper impaled on it. I asked him what
he was doing.I suddenly realized that these pieces of scrap paper blowing
about were the precious promises of God that this ministry had
neglected to act upon. I told the Lord, "These are not scraps and
trash but your precious promises." He asked me if I would count
as precious his promises and I said "Yes." He then gave me the
two pieces of paper that were impaled on his stick (each named
a certain ministry).I understood in the dream that the Lord was collecting up the
promises he had given many people and ministries who would not
act upon his promises to redistribute them to those who would
count His promises as precious and who would act upon them. There are many places in Scripture that record that the Lord
appeared in a whirlwind - usually in reference to impending judgment
- or spoke out of a whirlwind. The whirlwind is a picture of those
who have acted foolishly. Hosea 8:7 "For they sow the wind, and
they shall reap the whirlwind."Jesus told a story in Matthew 25 about a king who gave his servants
talents to invest, each according to his ability. The one who was
given five talents invested them and made five more. The one who
was given two talents likewise invested them and made two more.
And the servant how received one talent did nothing with his - he
buried it for fear of losing it. He refused to step out and cause the
kings' property to increase.Needless to say, when the king returned, the one servant who did
nothing lost even the one talent that was entrusted to him. It was
given to the other servants who would faithfully use it to expand
the king's property.Likewise, I believe that right now God is our collecting up the
neglected talents - ministries and gifts - that many of his servants
refused to count as precious and He is redistributing them to men
and women who will be faithful to the call of God.The king blessed the servants who were faithful and gave them
much more calling them "good and faithful servants." But to those
who refused to conduct the king's business, he said, Matthew 25:
26 - 27 "His master answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant!
You knew that I reap where I have not sowed, and gather where I
have not winnowed? Then you ought to have invested my money
with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what
was my own with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it
to him who has the ten talents."Because time is growing short, the Lord is taking away neglected
talents from those to whom they were once given and soon you'll
begin to see 2 talent ministries become 4 talent ministries, and
5 talent ministries become 10 talent ministries, as God increases
their abilities and anointing. And sadly, you'll many others who
refused to be faithful with the plans and purposes of God go the
way of the whirlwind.Judgment always begins at the house of God.
God's principles never change. Those who are faithful in the little
things will be faithful in the big things, and those who are not
faithful shall be cut off. If you have been laboring faithfully, expect
an increase. If you have not, repent and strengthen those things
that remain - while there is still time. The whirlwind is blowing.
