We have a rainy season here in Texas and it always makes it a bit
interesting. We don't own a clothes dryer, so we have hooks set
up in the living room where we can hang a line. It works fine, but
looks rather odd to see clothes hanging all over the place.
One day, it had rained all week, and I was desperate to get the
laundry done. Feeling confident that no one would come to visit since
it was nasty out, I set to do a load of under garments.
I hung them on my indoor lines. Our living room is a nice size,
15x24 so I have 4 long lines that can be strung.
But you do need to sit under some clothes when the lines are up.
Had everything hung, sat down to knit and there was a knock at the
door, my neighbor who has been wanting her son the minister to meet
me. He was here from out of state for just this one day.
I was so embarresed. But they insisted they understood and it was fine.
He sat on the sofa, right under hanging bras and undies. I was beet
red, scrambling to pull things down.
Now, I make sure these items are way on the other side of the room and
make sure my tea towels or something hangs over the sofa !blushing just in remembering,
Pat
