Lisa, I too have been down that road of struggling with more education. I
was never encouraged to go to college, but a trade school as both my
parents did. I thought I would have liked my children to go, but have
learned that I am not the last say in their future plans! My oldest took 2
classes paying outright, then nothing for many years. He went in the
service, then a few more years and has now decided that college is for him
and has been at it for two years. One didn't go anywhere but is hard blue
collar and struggling financially. He is still in "school" so to speak
and I am having a hard time watching him learn. Number three went one year
treading water. She received a few credits that cannot be taken away, but
found herself as a CNA at a home here in town. It has served her well
growing financially and independently. The last is talking about moving
two hours away for school after taking one year off after graduation to
build up her bank account. What a journey!
