Epiphone Chet Atkins SST - part 2

I restrung the Epi Chet Atkins SST with a lighter gauge string and it
significantly improved the play (although I will still eventually get a
good set-up job and replace the plastic saddle and nut). I ran it through
my LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI and then into the house (still don't have a
chorus or reverb). Had several comments after church about how good it
sounded. With the on-board tone control and the EQ on the ParaDI you
really have a very wide range of tone shaping options. I ordered a set of
rosewood bridge pins today. Still not sure exactly what to do with the
lack of a strap button on the back - I'm open to suggestions. I used the
old shoe string method yesterday. The neck is a little broader than the
necks on either my Strat or my Seagull, and a couple of the more
complicated chords yesterday were a bit of a stretch with my pinky. But
the neck is very comfortable. I'll bet a dozen people asked me yesterday,
"Where's the sound hole?" LOL! The only bad thing that happened was last
night I broke my G string just before our last song. It is a very nice
guitar, glad I bought it.We have a couple of older gentlemen who play electric guitar during praise
and worship. One of their guitars turned up missing yesterday. Please be
praying that it be returned or found. He was very upset. I left our
practice session and ran home and got my Strat and let him borrow that.Douglas
