Established In Love

And I pray that you, being rooted and
established in love, may
have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and
long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that
you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19 NIV
Have you ever considered the
question: What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail? It has become
a classic question of self-potential. Let’s look at it from a different
perspective.
Jesus calls us to passionate obedience
to the Father and, admittedly, that can be scary. What will He require? Will I
be able to do it? What if I fail?
But when we step out in faith and
just say yes, it becomes a partnership: our act of obedience partnered with His
ability. When we completely trust His love for us, when we know for certain
that if we fail, grace awaits, is obedience really a risk?
