Excel doing doing queer things

I have this queer thing happening at the office with MS-Excel 97. Everytime it is opened, it opens other
files/workbooks with it. I suspect it is a macro virus but PC-Cillin with the latest updated patterns did not detect a
thing with Excel. It detected a trojan virus named Pretty Park in file FILES32.VXD instead. As it is a system file, it
cannot clean or delete it. Tried to find a replacement file for this in the office but could not. As much as possible, I
would like to avoid formatting the hard drive and installing everything. I'd rather do it as a last resort.
System info.:
Windows 98
Office 97 Proffessional Suite
PC-Cillin 6
64 MB RAM
2.1 GB HDD
Fast Ethernet network card (Probably D-Link, not sure. It is installed in most of our computers).
