I read a lot on the web, thus comes many nightmares. Apple I think is
letting fear of losing their success drive them down over-controlling
alley.

I'm kind of peeved that Steve has Steved so many of the more, shall
we say, interesting apps off the store. 😉

And peeved that he has already gone so far, and will continue to go
down autocratic road. The latest Adobe bruhaha is kind of a bummer.

When I get an Intel Mac finally, I will consider iPhone and iPad
(iPad is more my taste, larger canvas to play with) but maybe develop
for Android, because at least there you can use one environs to
compile for more platforms. As to such a tool for us Mac developers,
Steve has outlawed them all. (cross-compilers)

I'm kind of tired of being shoved down Cocoa road, generally. I don't
know if it is the rumored Bertrand Serlet fellow who they claim
killed off most of 64 bit Carbon for everybody behind all that, but
somebody at Apple really has it in for all other languages than
Objective C.

ps, anybody needing decent Cocoa books, Amazon used is best way to
save. I bought 4 books for about $30, saving massive off new and even
other used.

I recommend
Cocoa Programming (Scott Anguish)
Cocoa for Dummies (2nd edition, not the first)
Building Cocoa Applications
Cocoa: The Vermont Recipes (be warned, typeface is really small for
us older eye people)

And the classics, which become much more clear via the above,

Cocoa Programming (Hillegass) and
Objective-C (Kochin,etc

How I feel about Cocoa and Apple lately. 🙂
