Feeling defeated

Posted by: dhaley <dhaley@...>

Just wondering if anyone happens to know of herbal remedies that will help
with asthma. I didn't share with the list until today that I've had
pneumonia for at least two weeks (that's why I haven't been typing much).
The pneumonia is complicated by allergy induced asthma. I haven't had an
asthma attack for 12 years. (interesting side note...haven't led
congregational worship for 12 years...the last time I did I got hit with
allergy induced asthma...wouldn't you know it...I began leading worship
about 2 months ago for the first time in 12 years...kind of interesting
huh?) The pollen count has been the highest in recorded record according to
the local news...it's been this way for weeks. It's also very wet here in
MN. We may loose our hay crop because of it. My friend that owns the local
health food store told me that her daughter has been on inhalers for years
and began a product called Quercetin. Her daughter has been totally off
inhalers now for two months after taking this product. The first time in
this teenage girls life that she hasn't had to live with inhalers. I've
been taking this product but haven't noticed a difference. Has anyone on
the list taken it? Does it take a while before you notice a difference?

I've felt so defeated. There were so many things I wanted to do this
Spring. For those that have known me for some time and on other lists...you
know I love to garden and can...well...I have no garden and I'm not even
sure I'd be able to lift the canner if my life depended on it. I went out
to the barn two days ago to unload some 2x4's and 2x6's with my children and
after working 2 hours had to come inside for the inhaler. I was totally
wiped out...the children had to cook dinner.

Today has been better. The ladies came, dug, stirred and I still feel like
I have enough energy to paint some shelves but it's very disheartening to
see so much that needs doing and being physically unable to do it. I feel
like a slob, my yard is unkept, etc. Surely there must be a light at end of
the tunnel. I hate the inhaler....Deanna
