Posted by: homenews <homenews@...>

Hi Hope Chest readers!

I am zipping through my clogged inbox, and forwarding anything that looks really interesting to home schoolers!  If you don't want to read this stuff, just hit delete, and know that this too shall pass!  (I probably won't send anything more after today for a while!)

MANTLE MINISTRIES latest dispatch from "Little Bear" . . .

We're doing it again! We are blessed to report that last year's Horn Creek home schooling camps with Richard "Little Bear" Wheeler were such a success that Horn Creek is offering a choice of three "Little Bear" Outdoor Adventure Camps in 2003. The "trailblazing" ministry team will be led by evangelist/historian Richard "Little Bear" Wheeler with administrative assistant Steve Ringer; joined by gifted women's seminar speaker Cindy Cone and home front aficionado Susan Willing for the ladies' mother/daughter breakaway sessions; also, broadcasting meteorologist John Willing for much more than the weather; and Dove Award winning special guest, music minister John G. Elliott.

The "Little Bear" Outdoor Adventure Camps for home schooling families promise to be exciting, educational, and inspirational. If you are a family that home schools your children, we encourage you to consider this great choice of three scheduled one-week camps at Horn Creek.  Along with outdoor skill demonstrations and "Little Bear's" compelling American heritage portrayals and messages, the week promises to be a vacation highlighted with family-building memories for years to come for everyone.

Special note to single moms: If you are a single mother with one or more sons, and would like to register for the camp, for the father/son teaching and skill demonstration sessions, we will offer to place them in a mentor position to be attached to a volunteering father/son family team.

Testimonials:

Dear Little Bear,

We attended your home school camp at Horn Creek last week. I just had to send a note of thanks.  We had a wonderful time.  The facilities at Horn Creek were fantastic. There was always something to do.  The meetings were so interesting.  We all learned so much.  We're already talking about next year…The D. Family

Dear Little Bear and Staff,

My grandsons, Greg and Chad, haven't stopped telling me about the camp! They loved it, and so did Mom and Dad.  Thanks to all of you at Horn Creek and Mantle Ministries for the effort and work you put into it… Kay M.

Dear Little Bear,

Thanks for a great home school camp in the Colorado Mountains last week. We enjoyed it tremendously. We loved the format of the week.  My boys and I had a blast learning about self-defense, the muskets, the roping and etc.  I enjoyed Steve and Josh's insights on firearms, archery, and trapping.  John G. Elliott's music was marvelous.

Your godly counsel and the whole camp week provided the right setting to have the conversation to make family decisions. After you prayed with me and my two other sons, you asked us to keep you updated as to his progress.  I am pleased to say that he is doing very well.  You would never know that he had been sick. I was very encouraged by the prayer and concern of the fellow campers.  I felt like the adversity drew us closer to each other.  We are interested in coming to another home school family camp.  Please keep us informed. May God richly bless you, your family, and your effectiveness with others. We have been praying for baby William from the beginning…Peter D.

Dear Little Bear,

Praise God from Whom ALL blessings flow!! We will continue praying. We extend a tremendous thank you for a fabulous God-honoring week at Horn Creek. You and the entire staff were such a blessing to our whole family. We have shared our experience with anyone who will listen, and know at least 6 families who would like to attend the next camp.  John-Paul has not stopped talking about the camp and is constantly referring to "Little Bear" and Joshua!! Thanks to Cindy Cone and Stephanie, Mandy and Kali have already taken over kitchen cleanup duty, and have even given mini etiquette lessons, as well as performing Psalm 1, and singing the songs they learned from John G. Elliott. Thank you for giving to the Lord!!! (to quote Ray Boltz)…In Christ's love, Cheryl
