I don`t recommend D & D when it comes to spiritual issues, but the miniture games is all about strategy. Magic here could be technological inventions if it was another setting (for instance Battletech). I`ve also played Axis & Allies, the classic WW2 - strategy game, Narnia RISK and other RISK-variants. I`ve also played Battletech, but I found it unneccesary complicated. I`ve also tried Descent, a table strategy/dungeon-exploring game. Its not a war game though, but more like Fantasy role playing game boiled down to No-theater/only battle & strategy. For a DragonRaid 3000 edition, I must say the idea is completely new to me. I have always thought of the World of Talania to be of the medieval europe kind, and I do have a hard time imagining it as developed into a futuristic setting. But if it was made as to be a completely voluntary addition, why not? I do however have problem with seeing what moral and spiritual lessons could be learnt from it.I for my part would like to see a DragonRaid 2nd Edition in the bookshelfs of all major christian bookstores. I`ve been doodling down some ideas for it, but I`ve not come as far as trying things out.I`ve heard DragonRaid players say that the Dragon-speech part is not well developed. Perhaps Dragonraiders-game-leaders should compare notes, and try to make some guidelines for how this could work better? Some thoughts from a soul in Norway.Best RegardsE. I have a couple dozen metal mech minis as well. My favorite is the Panther. For those how dont know, Battletech is all about giant robotic vehicles with equally giant weapons.
From Wikipedia Chicago-based FASA Corporation's original, 1984 BattleTech game focuses on enormous robotic, semi-humanoid battle machines called BattleDroids. Their name was changed to BattleMechs in the second edition because George Lucas and Lucasfilm held the rights to the term "droid." The visual design of the earliest line of BattleMechs were taken from Macross and other anime, including many signature images.
Mechs are one thing that would be fun to add to DragonRaid 3000, if I ever get around to the project. Could you see LightRaider mechs fighting cybernetically enhanced dragons and hordes of goblins and orcs in Elemental suits?

We do battletech on occasion. I have tons of stuff for it and have ran a number of campaigns for it.

Off topic.
Do any of you play miniature or table-top wargames? There are dozens out there, though I would like to see if anyone here plays games by Ground Zero Games or Steve Jackson Games.
