Oh come ON guys! What do you have? Other lands, other peoples. The possibilities are HUGE!?!?!Are there exploratory cultures amongst the Dragon Lands? Do they look to find spices and slavesfor back home? What sort of explorers are there amongst the Liberated Lands? And what are the cultural dangers of Exploration?-Aaron-----Original Message-----

Subject: Islands/Other Lands in DRA New Subject...What about other lands? Lands to find/explore are always alot of fun, and should be available in a roleplaying game. The continent of EdenAgain has been pointed out to be the largest land mass, so that leaves islands, possibly large archepelagoes that can potentially be mapped out. Some possibilities:Land of MonstersIsland or islands where prehistoric monsters dwell. Ancient ruins, lost civilizations, and all sorts of adventures. Races such as mound orcs might be seen as ideal warriors to the primitive humans that dwell here (and emulated as much as possible).Island CivilizationsNon pseudo-european peoples, isolated from other regions. primitive tribes to highly cultured pseudo-japanese or chinese cultures possibly (and worshipping oriental style dragons). These sorts of cultures can be far more alien than elves and dwarves to even modern Westerners.Mobile Island(s)Civilizations that dwell on islands that move in the night and are nearly impossible to track. Possibly islands on the back of titanic sea creatures such as turtles, or possibly something more magical. Either via a dragon curse, or the wishes of the Overlord of Many Names.ConsiderationsBeing as EdenAgain has only one true continent (and that being a small one), weather patterns on the deep sea are likely to be intense, with quite violent storms to wrack islands. Island chains would probably be amongst shallow seas with lots of sea life. So lots of critters are likely.Island cultures would be very impressed by sorcery, and be very likely to promote those displaying magical power to high status. So "prophets" of the dragons are likely to be a problem for exploring Twiceborn.Just some thoughts,-Aaron-- To unsubscribe, send ANY message to: dragonraid-unsubscribe@associate.com

A New Subject...
What about other lands? Lands to find/explore are always alot of fun, and should be available in a roleplaying game. The continent of EdenAgain has been pointed out to be the largest land mass, so that leaves islands, possibly large archepelagoes that can potentially be mapped out.
Some possibilities:
Land of Monsters
Island or islands where prehistoric monsters dwell. Ancient ruins, lost civilizations, and all sorts of adventures. Races such as mound orcs might be seen as ideal warriors to the primitive humans that dwell here (and emulated as much as possible).
Island Civilizations
Non pseudo-european peoples, isolated from other regions. primitive tribes to highly cultured pseudo-japanese or chinese cultures possibly (and worshipping oriental style dragons). These sorts of cultures can be far more alien than elves and dwarves to even modern Westerners.
Mobile Island(s)
Civilizations that dwell on islands that move in the night and are nearly impossible to track. Possibly islands on the back of titanic sea creatures such as turtles, or possibly something more magical. Either via a dragon curse, or the wishes of the Overlord of Many Names.
Considerations
Being as EdenAgain has only one true continent (and that being a small one), weather patterns on the deep sea are likely to be intense, with quite violent storms to wrack islands. Island chains would probably be amongst shallow seas with lots of sea life. So lots of critters are likely.
Island cultures would be very impressed by sorcery, and be very likely to promote those displaying magical power to high status. So "prophets" of the dragons are likely to be a problem for exploring Twiceborn.
Just some thoughts,
-Aaron
