Fwd: [breakpoint] Teens in Trouble, 6/26/2000
Quote from Forum Archives on June 26, 2000, 5:16 pmPosted by: masinick <masinick@...>
Dear friends,I think I have heard about this young man, Joshua Harris. He was on
a recent radio program on my local Christian Radio Station, 91.1 FM,
WVNH, Concord, NH. I heartily endorse what this young man is saying.I come from a generation where things got progressively "watered down"
or reduced to "Oh, that's not so bad". Fortunately, I also grew up within
a family that had more values than that. Just the same, the culture of
my day has had an effect on me. I don't want to see this kind of thinking
perpetuate itself and completely destroy the generation to come... Yet,
there is a balance.I believe we have to start young, and teach our children and our families
the proper values. Then we need to continually bathe our families and
communities in prayer, and even our nation and our world. Ultimately,
we have to trust in God, who can heal the most broken spirit and even
a corrupted society. Will you join me, in a small way, by establishing sound values in the
places where you have some influence, perhaps your own family or your
close friends? Give it a lot of prayer before even attempting to do
anything, then only do what is consistent with what the Bible teaches.
There is still hope for our children, our country, and even our world.
That hope is Christ Himself. He heals the broken hearted, sets the
captive mind free, and teaches us the essence of love, for He IS love.Brother Brian
