Perspective:-
              Grace Amazing

Praise be to God almighty who chooses to do marvellous things in and through the most unworthy, unlikely instruments. It's His sovereign grace alone that He pleases to take hold of weak vessels to show forth his glories and goodness.

With all humility and gratitude this writer bow before the Lord for allowing him also in the same manner to fulfil His purposes through this e-periodical for the last one year. It was in the last week of September 2005 we sent out the first
issue of 'Grace & Peace' e-periodical to some friends. In the midst of many activities and travelling the Lord graciously enabled us to dispatch each
issue
regularly.

We are grateful to all the dear ones who encouraged us in the past with their prayers, words of encouragement, suggestion and even complaint. We are also indebted to the few who volunteered to provide contents. It's our prayer that, more brethren may come forward willingly to use their talents for the edification of the believers.

We do not claim any perfection, but our endeavour will be to improve day by day so that it will be a source of encouragement and edification. Our ultimate aim is to present the truth of the word of God and consequently the all-round growth of the Christian believers.

We believe, it is the work of the Holy Spirit to transform a life using the word of God and that is an ongoing process. For this reason we need to read study and meditate the scripture on a regular basis. Making use of every opportunity we ought to fill our heart with the word of God.

As the title suggests we are also aware of the importance of Grace & Peace in a believer's every day life. Paul was aware of it, that's why he made this phrase as a word of greetings in all his letters.

Not only the Lord Jesus saves us by His grace, He teaches, sustains, and strengthens us by His grace. Eph.2:8; Tit.3:11, 12. 2Cor.12:9. Paul says, 'by the grace of God I am what I am.' 1Cor.15:10. He acknowledges that what ever he has become is only because of the unmerited favour of God that bestowed upon him.

Yes, that alone is the reason and basis for any Christian believer's life, service and fruitfulness.  We have nothing to boast. Everything is by grace and grace alone. We need this unfathomable grace of God every moment of our life. Apostles had much grace.
Act.4:33. Barnabas saw grace in the Church at Antioch. Act.11:23.  Grace of God must be evident in our words, deeds and even attitude. Col.3:16; 4:6.

The result of grace in a believer's life is peace. Not just peace with God as sins forgiven and saved; need the peace of God that surpasses all knowledge, guarding our heart & mind. Rom.5:1; Phi. 4:7.

Both, Grace & Peace will be ours, if only we draw near to the throne of grace in due time where our Great High Priest the blessed Lord Jesus Christ is seated. Heb.4:16.

It is our sincere prayer that this humble effort will encourage you to come close to the Lord and experience grace amazing and peace abounding.

Study Note: -                                 THE BRAZEN ALTER(contd)

The horns:

We are told in verse 2, (Ex..27,) that there were four horns, one on each of the corners of the altar, these were places where the guilty could come and plead for mercy, as we see in 1 Kings, 1;50, and 2;28. The blood of the sacrifices was placed on those horns, and all represents our coming to Christ and His cross, when convicted of our sin, to plead for mercy, but mercy based on the righteous sacrifice of our Substitute. "Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to thy cross I cling".

The rings and staves:

In verse 6 and 7, we are told about the staves of acacia wood, which were overlaid with bronze, and the rings of bronze into which they were inserted, and these were then used for carrying the altar from place to place. It would seem that
no mechanical means were used to transport the altar, even though because of its large size, and its construction, it would have been very heavy. It was to be carried on the shoulders of the Levites. This would teach us, that as we move on in the testimony of God, we are to carry all that the brazen altar represents, in our hearts. This calls for spiritual strength and energy which can only be gained by feeding on the right kind of food, the strong meat of the deeper things of the word of God. (Heb. 5; 11-14.)

The strong meat is rich in protein, and calcium, which build muscle and bone. So many today have no appetite for the deeper things of the word of God, which they consider to be too dull and boring, too heavy. They want the light and sweet things, things that please the palate of the flesh, they want to live on spiritual "candy floss", such will never develop muscle and bone, and perhaps why so many are weak, and are unable to accept responsibility, or to stand for Christ.

The limit of the people's approach:

Only the priests and the Levites were permitted to advance further than the brazen altar, and today there are so few who ever get beyond the knowledge that their sins are forgiven. This is of course a wonderful knowledge to have, but there is much more for us to enjoy than that.  The brazen altar brings all that to mind, but it also emphasizes the worth of the person of Christ, what He means to the heart of God.

As believer-priests, we all have the privilege to enter the Holy place, to "draw near to God". Let us not be content just to know that our sins are forgiven, let us enter into the full enjoyment of all the privilege that God has bestowed upon us, through Christ, and in the power of the Holy Spirit!

 Anecdote                                                                Rope walk over Niagara

Once, Charles Blondin, the world-famous tight-rope walker was performing a rope walk over the mighty Niagara Falls on a 1100 foot tight rope stretching from bank to bank. There was a huge awestruck crowd on both ends. Blondin stepped on the rope and walked across and reached the other end. The hushed silence broke out into thunderous cheers from the crowd.

He offered to re-cross the mighty cataract again, this time with a man on his back. He asked the people whether they believed that he could carry a man and cross the falls on the rope, They all yelled , 'yes'. He asked for a volunteer to step forward so that he might carry him.
No one came forward.
He looked at a cheerful looking man and asked him, "Do you believe that I am able to carry you across the falls?" "Yes, I do; but do you think that I am going to risk my life like that?" replied the man. Blodin turned towards his manager, Henry Colcord, and asked him whether he believed that he could carry him on his back across on the rope. Colcord said he fully believed and trusted him and volunteered himself for the show. And Blondin carried him safely to the side on his back.

Simple belief-intellectual knowledge- is not enough trust Christ for salvation. Commit to His disposal.

   Double Life

Many people today live a double life! One kind of life before the public and another kind of life inside. All are very careful to show themselves decent and well mannered in their out ward dealings. Even if nothing is inside they wear a mask to show that which is not inside. They conveniently forget that God looks not to the out ward but inside.
1Samuel.16:7.

Such show of personality is hypocrisy. God hates it. More than personality our character matters much. It is that which we will be when nobody is around us. Character is the sum of our invisible traits and qualities partially inherited from parents and developed by various lives's situations. It is formed and molded by various influences, circumstances and practices.

As far as a Christian is concerned the Holy Spirit bring about divine character in a his life as he yields to him.

So don't worry about the out -ward expressions, ie, personality. Be sure that before penetrating eye of God our life is pure, holy and acceptable. Be concerned about our life before God. Yes, the blood of Christ cleanses us from all sins.
1John.1:7,9. Our Lord can transform any character. Praise be to His name.

News & Views:- 1
Youth Camp Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Once again the time has come for the youngsters in the Brethren Assemblies of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and even parts of U.P to come together for a time of spiritual retreat. It is a yearly event every one is eagerly looking forward. This time Jodhpur Assembly is organizing the camp from Sep. 29 to October 2.

Even though they have to travel hundreds of miles to reach the camping site, these young Christians and even few others too are making all the arrangements to reach in time. The program includes Bible study, sharing, singing, etc. It is a time to meet one another too.

Bro. George Dawson Delhi and Bro. Easow Jacob Bangalore are the main speakers. Pray that in this age of distorted values and ideology our young generation may be rooted and grounded in the word of God to with stand every wind of wrong doctrine.  May the Lord truly help them to be refreshed and revived by the rich ministry of the word of God by these eminent servants of God in this desert land of India.

News & Views:-  2                   Demand to legalize same sex marriages in India?!

Recently some eminent men and women including some Christians appealed to the government of India to abolish the law that bans the same sex marriage in India.  Apart from a memorandum signed by some thousand people, they published some articles and held a demonstration to show their solidarity with the homosexuals.

They argue that developed, free nations have already legalized marriage with the same sex and India being a free, democratic, developing country should follow the west and abolish the age old law to protect the rights of this minority group!

What they forget is that the so-called developed free nations, in the name of freedom allowed all kinds of perverted ideology and morality, now reaping the consequences in the form of increased divorces, parentless children, drug addicts etc.

God's people should be aware of the trend in the society and educate their children to safe guard them against such evil practices. Bible very clearly says that homosexuality is utterly evil and the consequences are far reaching.
Genesis.19:5, 24, 25. Romans.1:26—31, 18. 1Corinthians.6:9.
