Gardening/Daffodil Question

Posted by: kmat <kmat@...>

Hello everyone,

I sure have been enjoying reading all your posts...the gardening ones
tonight are making me excited about getting my garden put in, BUT I have to
be a little more patient as the forecast has possible snow flurries in the
air tonight. A little north of us had them earlier today.
Last year our last frost was on June 4th, so I'm being as patient as I can.
I just went and brought all my seedlings in that I've started this
spring...my tomato plants are getting big. I had them in my garden shed as
I've been wanting to harden them off, but I don't want to risk them getting
too cold in there tonight. The temp is already at 37, hopefully it doesn't
get too much colder here tonight.

Anyways, my question is about daffodils...my plants came up this spring and
I didn't get even one flower bud on them (the last two years I have). I'm
wondering if anyone knows why that might be? I've checked them almost
everyday since they peeked through the ground, and I haven't seen any chew
marks of any kind that would point to any animal.

Blessings,
Pam in Minnesota
