Fair Day at First Baptist Genesis 1 (and others)
This week we enjoyed the Starr County Youth Fair
Creation of the universe
Creation of the world
Creation of all the Plants and Critters
Creation of the Garden
Were all pure GRACE given by God for the people of His Creation
People were Created by the Grace of God through the Spoken Word of God for the people of God
Life is Grace
The problems came into our world when people began to REJECT that grace and work together for their own perceived good. GENESIS 3
They had FULL GRACE but refused to live by FAITH in the One they KNEW provided everything they needed.
They lost the Garden by faith in the serpent and themselves; not because God failed to Provide for them or Love them.
We like to make our human comments about how God was somehow different in the Old Testament and we live in a different world today. But, like we learned from Luke last week it is impossible for the Law to pass away. Luke 16:16 – 17 "The Law and the Prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone forces his way into it.7 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void."
But God is the same; God never changes.
Ephesians 2;4 – 10 "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
Salvation today is the same as it was for Adam and Eve
By GRACE alone through FAITH alone in CHRIST alone.
And, also like it was for Adam and Eve way back in the Garden, We can reject that grace by placing OUR FAITH in OUR THOUGHTS or PLANS (regardless of how our thoughts are soiled)
Who or what are we (YOU) allowing to PULL your FAITH away from THE ONE you KNOW provides EVERYTHING you NEED TODAY and FOREVER?
