Hey, Portland folks-I just signed on to play for a blues and folk artist, Alice Stuart, and we
will be playing a date in the Portland area on Saturday, November 15.We'll be at:
Trail's End
1320 Main St
Oregon City, OR
97045-10189PM to 1AM, and cost is $10 at the door.
Joining me on this date is Matthew Burgess on drums and percussion. Most of
you have heard Matthew but probably don't know it- he's played with Heart,
Roger Fisher, The Spin Doctors and quite a few other pretty well known acts
as well as being the new drummer at my church, and plays with me pretty
regularly on a host of recording sessions- fabulous guy, great drummer and
the single best percussionist I've EVER played with. (Munyungo Jackson and
Lenny Castro included!!)I should warn you all that this is NOT a Christian event, and it would seem
that Alice, being a blues and folk artist, plays
some......interesting.....places. Consider yourselves warned. I know
nothing about this club- anyone in the Portland area know anything they'd
like to share?Also- for those going to the Tacoma thing- I was playing a date that weekend
at the Emerald Queen, but the gig has fallen through. Long and not fun
story. Unfortunately, I have a lot to do that weekend, so I won't be able
to attend the P&W conference, or a CB hang afterwards.-Marc Miller
