by J. Randal MathenyGive up the buggy's pace,
And face the factory's fast assembly line,
The airy blast of rivets, the motor's whine --
Enter the modern race!... largar a charrete
e encarar o Chevette ...Leave the tired land,
Embrace the bustling city's glass and steel,
Its spidery streets and walls, where tire and wheel
Take form by human hand.... largar a charrete
e encarar o Chevette ...Abandon the barren hills,
To hitch the noisy engine of progress fast,
And heat your future in the furnace's blast,
Learn a new set of skills.... largar a charrete
e encarar o Chevette ...Break with the limiting past,
Leap the mountain's cold and thinning air,
Chase your dreams into the valley's dare,
And live, at last, at last.1. So you want to know what the foreign phrase
means and why it's there. I explain that here:

Give up the buggy's pace,
