Dear Hope Chest friends,

Three of our faithful readers sent extra information on the Christmas extras, as below.

For those who are still praying for our family, my mother-in-law found out yesterday her cancer is stage 3 (out of 4), in both bronchial tubes and in the lymph system.   Since her first cancer in 1997, she only has had only one lung. She will start the first round of chemo Monday morning, and will also receive white blood cell treatment on Christmas Day. Radiation may come about the time our baby is born in February, if her body tolerates the first two rounds of chemo well enough.  She is hoping to be well enough to attend her youngest daughter's wedding in May.  Thanks for your prayers!

Marybeth says that the piece First Corinthians 13, Christmas Version was written by Sharon Jaynes, who is with the Proverbs 31 ministry.  It is from her book Celebrating a Christ-Centered Christmas, which is available for $15.  Here is the web link:

Rita Ann says:

We went to the dollar store and found some really cute little mugs with snowman on them. $1.00

We put the 'snowman soup' in little bags with a piece of cinnamon stick (candy cane) in each as the stir spoon. Added the cute little label (ours read a little differently)

We sold them for $5.00 each for fundraising. It went over very well. My children also learned some entreprenueral skills, as well as 'school' lessons in math, writing, spelling etc.<smile>

We worked with a private christian school that had 6 students, and sold over $1,200 in mugs/snowman soup. We made a resonable profit from each mug and had alot of fun making and selling them also.

Had to share...
