GOD IS THERE
by J. Randal Matheny

No matter how dark the failing sky,
How heavy the stale, polluted air,
Though brows may sweat and throats go dry,
We may be sure that God is there.

Too good to forget, too great to fail,
His mighty arm rules all our ways,
Redeems the weak who cry from the gale,
Lifts up the willing soul who obeys.

Yes, God is there, he's always there
For those who trust and work and wait;
And saints who brave this world's despair
Will find him waiting at heaven's gate.
