Great is Thy Faithfulness!

Know, recognize
and understand therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God,
Who keeps covenant and steadfast love and mercy with those who love Him and
keep His commandments, to a thousand generations. Deuteronomy 7:9 (Amplified

Have you ever
gazed at the stars? There are millions
of them – or is that billions?
Probably. When you’re in or near
a city, it’s harder to see the stars, but that doesn’t mean they’re not
there. What about during the day? Are the stars still up there? You bet they are, faithfully shining for all
they’re worth, despite the fact that we can’t really see them. The same stars shine just as brightly whether
you’re in the metropolis of New York, the deserts of Arabia, the villages of
Kenya or the mountains of Switzerland.
Could the stars
themselves be any more faithful than the One who spoke them into being? Could
the One whose word holds the earth in orbit ever be unfaithful to His Word – or
to His children? Of course not. In the best of times and the worst of time,
He is God, the faithful God, Who keeps His covenant. He will never leave you
nor forsake you. He is ever mindful of you. His thoughts toward you outnumber
the grains of sand on the seashore (Psalm 139:17). He is faithful to His
promises (Hebrews 10:23), He’ll be faithful to you.
Heavenly Father,
thank You for Your great faithfulness. You remain faithful even when we falter.
Your steadfast love never ceases. Your mercies are new every morning. You
uphold us with Your righteous right hand. Help us to show forth Your light
today. Be with our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ. Grant them protection,
favor, wisdom and strength. In Jesus’
name we pray. Amen.
