HEADING TO STATES

Posted by: btolliver <btolliver@...>

Dear Friends and Family:

Most of you know that Dad has turned worse and has deteriorated rapidly over the past two or three weeks.

After talking with him, our children, his church friends and pastor, and fellow missionaries here in Kiev, we have decided to go ahead and return to the States immediately so we can have some quality time with Dad before he is unable to communicate with us.

When we talked with him late Thursday night Kiev time, he indicated he was very weak and tired, and was becoming moreso each day.  Those conditions have been corroborated by Deanna and Jim.  His mind is alert and clear except in the mornings, but his body is just not keeping up.

So, we have decided to fly out of Kiev this coming Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. via Lufthansa Airlines.  We will fly from Kiev to Munich on #5279, arriving at 8:10 Munich time.  We will leave Munich on #434 at11:15 a.m., arriving in Chicago at 2:00 Chicago time.  Our final leg will take us on United #1459 leaving Chicago at 4:55 p.m. and arriving in Kansas City at 6:21.

From there we hope to have someone meet us and take us to Collins.  (Hint!  Hint!)

Most of our time will be spent with Dad and at home, and trying to link up with our home church in Eldorado Springs and Dad's home church in Bolivar.  We'll be working on lots of legal, logistical, and personal belongings matters.

Our return to Kiev is definite, but the time is certainly unclear at this time.  We will know more after we are home and spend some time with Dad.  Ricky and Marina McCreight will be apartment sitting for us while we're gone, so there will be someone at the Kiev number to take phone calls.

In the meantime, you can always contact us through our e-mail addresses, our home address (6630 SE 951 Rd., Collins, MO 64738) and our home phone (417-275-4854) or Dad's phone (417-777-7996).

We thank all of you for praying; please continue doing so.  Dad needs your prayer support and encouragement.  He's ready to go on home to be with the Lord, but wants to remain with us, as can be expected.  We want to encourage him as much as we can.  Frankly, his time here could be very short, or it could string out for several months.  There's no way of knowing.  However, it is very clear he will be bed ridden very soon.  He is sleeping more and more of the time, and eating less and drinking less.  Those are pretty clear indicators of the cancer's activity.

If you need to contact us, please feel free.  We'll be in Kiev until Monday night, and then we'll be in Bolivar or Collins after Tuesday night.

In His Bond,

Bob and Jo Ann
