Heaven Friday

"Heaven"
I was shocked, confused,
bewildered As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Not by the lights or décor. But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp --
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics, the trash. There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.Uncle Bill, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.And why's everyone so quiet,
So somber? Give me a clue."
"Hush, child," said He.
"They're all in shock.
No one thought they'd see you."
"I Am A Christian"When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I get lost"
that is why I chose this wayWhen I say "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guideWhen I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I am weak
and pray for strength to carry on.When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt. When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.When I say "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek HIS name. When I say "I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority
I only know I'm loved.
