Heavenly Daze

books in the series so far. They are written by Lori Copeland and Angela
Hunt.
I picked up the book Grace in Autumn at my library. It looked interesting. I
got home and learned that it was book 2 of the Heavenly Daze series. Book 1
is titled Heavenly Daze. SO I went back to the library and found the first
book. I have finished it and started book 2.
If you like the Mitford books, you will probably like these. They are not as
good -- to me -- as Mitford, but they are of a similar vein.
They are set on a fictional Maine Island called Heavenly Daze. There are 22
or so people on the island and 7 angels there who watch over them. They do
not know these guys are angels. The goings on of the island folks are cute
and entertaining, but I do not think these books (at least Book 1) teaches
anything specific. I am not sure I am explaining this well. You know, some
Christian fiction really stresses God working in the person(s) life and some
Christian fiction is really just secular fiction that is clean... meaning no
language etc. This series appears to be the entertaining kind.
I had one problem with these books in that I do not believe angels inhabit
the earth continuously as portrayed here. I do believe in angels and I
believe God sends them to give messages and help us, but I personally have
seen nothing in the Word to make me believe they dwell among us "disguised"
as our neighbors. Obviously this supposition did not bother me enough to keep
me from reading the books!
SO if you like Mitford and are looking for some light entertaining reading,
then Heavenly Daze might just be what you are looking for.
