by J. Randal MathenyFestive days afford us laughter,
Food and finery with our friends;
Games the sons are running after,
Daughters' sweet perfume ascends.Overcome our carnal blindness,
May we see thy loving hand;
Raise our eyes to thy rich kindness,
Sparkling like the ocean sand.>From the mountains' snowy summit,
On the rolling, golden plain,
Praises pour forth without limit,
Voices chant a loud refrain.Home we find our safe gibraltar,
Man and wife and child belong,
Gathered 'round the family altar,
This our happy season's song.1. I don't know what the rest of the week will
hold -- all kids are home --, so this goes
off early as my prayer and wish for you
this holiday season.2. Share today's poem, as is, with a friend.
