Hello Hope Chest friends!
I hope you are all having a lovely Labor Day!
Since we are "off" school for the holiday, and I have
a little "spare" time, I figured I would take a few minutes
and send out some home school announcements that I
have received in the past couple of weeks.
In many parts of the country, school is just getting
started for the year. Here in our part of sunny Florida,
the public schools started nearly a month ago, and
we started just a few days later. I don't know if any of
you noticed a slightly melancholy tone in the last
Hope Chest issue, but when we started school,
I felt pretty overwhelmed. I wasn't sure how we
were going to get everything done each week.
I am happy to report that after a slightly rough start due
to illness, we are up and rolling, and things appear
to be going smoothly. Not that the house is always
tidy or anything, but we're working on that too! I
spent a good bit of time planning out our current
unit study on the Roman Empire, and that made a
big difference. Now it's time to plan out our next
units on the time period from 500 AD to 1000 AD.

for this time period, and will let you know how
I like it when I send out the October newsletter.
By the way, speaking of the next newsletter,
the theme is Justice and Mercy. I would love
to hear from all of you about how you
incorporate these concepts into your home

Hey everybody! Just had to let you know that on Monday night, Labor
Day, on CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, Hannah will be interviewed
(as well as Mommy)! Also, if you live or know someone who lives,
in these following areas, you can tune in to these other networks
for another interview with Hannah and Mom:
El Paso, TX - KFOX tv, Seattle, WA -KIRO-TV, San Fran/Oakland, CA -
KTVU-TV, Orlando, FL -WFTV-TV, Dayton,OH - WHIO-TV,Pittsburgh, PA -
WPXI-TV, Atlanta GA - WSB-TV, Charlotte,NC - WSOC-TV. These times will
differ accoring to where you are in the US, so listen for evening news-
national type stuff near 5pm or so. Sorry we don't know any more
specifics than that!! Blessings to you all. Hannah just had her fourth
of 8 chemo cycles and is continuing to get stronger. We praise God!
