There is no doubt that we as Christians should be civil toward those whose opinions might differ from ours. But there is a world of difference between civility and affirmation. It is one thing to be kind and respectful to my homosexual neighbors. It is quite another thing to say I must approve of their sinful lifestyle. To say we need to approve of everyone’s beliefs without ever given the opportunity for disagreement is simply inconsistent with the principles that built our great nation of democracy and freedom! It is also committing another act of judgmentalism. For telling someone else that he or she is being judgmental is a rather judgmental thing to do! People who do not want absolute standards have declared that all must follow their absolute standard that forbids judging others!

I am in shock.
 
Last November, I included an article in the issue on "Nations and Generations" by a lady named Kimberly Forder about how her family had adopted triplets from Liberia and how they were planning to move to Liberia to help the people there.  I received an e-mail this evening from a reader who sent links to a news report in Washington State.   Kimberly Forder has been arrested for the 2001 murder of an 8-year old adopted son, and for the abuse of all of her children who had been adopted by that time.   The story gets worse, but I don't want to put it in your inbox in case your children are reading this.  You can read the links if you wish.
 
At this point, my brain is so flustered I won't even comment on the crime except to say I am absolutely appalled and shaken.  I should say that the Forder family did move to Liberia, Kimberly came back for medical treatment and was subsequently arrested after her two oldest biological children (one of whom is also in jail for a separate horrible crime) reported her, and that her husband and all of the adopted children are still in Liberia.  What a mess for these kids.
 
I had absolutely NO CLUE about this when she originally contacted me or when I published the article.  The original story of the adoptions also appears on my blog page at HomeSchoolBlogger, and there are now a whole bunch of angry, angry comments attached to it.  I have tried to log in to pull the whole thing off, but I can't even get that far.  I can't figure it out.  Everything freezes on me.  Also, my own web site, according to another reader, has been dysfunctional for a few days, and that it defaults to a page about hope chests for sale.  I am beginning to wonder if someone has sabotaged it.   I need to contact my webmaster about this to see if she knows what is going on.  I don't believe I can pull the story off of the Associate.com archives, but I will check into that.
 
Well, please be patient as I get my end of this sorted out.   If any of you at HomeSchoolBlogger can help me out, please do!  And pray for me, too, while you are at it.   This kind of story really grieves me, especially when it happens within the "Christian" home school community.  God have mercy.
