Hot water heaters

Posted by: dabanks <dabanks@...>

Hi, I can answer a few questions about the instantaneous water heaters. THere is one brand you can by at places like Menards and it really is a good one. It is the Aqua Star by Bosch. Basically they run like this, you turn on your hot water to shower or whatever and the cold water runs through heating coils and it heats the water at a constant temperature of between 100 and 140 degrees only while the water is being drawn. No more heating water constantly in the conventional water heater which heats constantly maintaining that heat. The small water heaters fit into closets, etc too. They say it saves up to 50% of your heating costs. There is a solar model too. Many people like to put these water heaters in cabins, lake homes, etc too. They weigh between 40-50 pounds only. You also don't have to worry about sediment forming at the bottom as you do with regular water heaters which cut down on the efficiency quite a bit and make it wear out faster. Like I said, we have put many of these in for people and everyone who we know who has one likes it alot. At Menards I think they run around $500. Hope this helps. Blessings, Julie
