How to change TableView column header text

For example, for a column header with the text "Miles", it would need to be changed to "Kilometers". My initial pass through the docs indicates subclassing NSTableCell might be required but this sounds too involved for such a simple task. Presumably I’m overlooking something. I’ll post what I find but maybe someone has already done this?
