Hi folks,During Mark's absence, I'll be filling in as interim moderator. I'll fill this
role for 2 weeks and then we'll re-assess the situation.I am very hopeful and excited to see what God will be doing for the next year.
This past year, the Lord has challenged me to confront my actions with the
question "Do you love Me?". The point I feel God has been wanting to make in
my life is that IF I love God, my conduct will be shaped by my love for him.
If I love myself and my own will, my conduct will be for myself. This sounds very basic, but this simple question, "Do you love me?" is at the
very heart of each decision we make, including the decision to sin. If at the
point of temptation, we allow the Holy Spirit to speak that question to our
hearts, a person who loves God can resist temptation. Why? Because God in
his mercy loves me so much that my selfish wants are useless compared to the
chance I have to return my love to God by using my life in a better way. If
I love God, I will not sin. Loving God is a moment-by-moment activity, and
so is including him in our lives. For me, this past year has been an opportunity for growth, and God has provided
ways that I can take baby steps to become a more mature believer. Yes, I'm
all grown up on the outside, but my mind and spirit need God's shaping - I'm
still a child in there.May God guide us each into better relationship with him as we enter this new
year.Glen
