Hi Quinn...welcome!

You said:
"...When I was in 8th grade I was able to pluck at an older friend's carvin
fretless five string bass and fell in love with the sound...My dream bass is
a Carvin BB-70."

Picking up on the Carvin threads in your note, I went to Carvin on my second
bass and have always loved the instruments. The first Carvin I bought is
now a fretless 4, and a year ago I purchased a 5 with all the electronic
stuff, long scale, etc. (Sorry...I am terrible with the official model
numbers and all that). Played a gig last night here in Quito for a book
release with a quartet (sax/trumpet, guitar, piano and bass). Everything
went through the PA except the bass...just the Carvin 5 and my Redhead into
a room with about 250 people. Several co-workers commented on the rich bass
tone...lots of radio/audio folks around here...so all that to say that I am
really happy with my gear and hope to continue to hone my chops so that I
can always offer an excellent musical offering to God. You'll learn a lot
on CB about other types of basses, and who knows, you might get GAS and
change your dream bass some day...
