Hi Julie,

I don't know if anyone from the goats-canada list emailed you privately.
Here's a few more post's that were on the list.

I agree with the fecal test. ivomec does NOT get rid of tape nor from what I
understand does safeguard. The best stuff would be valbazen. You also have
to remember just because she deworms doesn't mean it's going to work.
Wormers become less effective over time. Also low temp usually means anemic.
give her 3cc of new cells one day and 2cc once a day for 4 more days, this
will help the with her being anemic. There is only one reason for her being
anemic lice or worms. She better act fast because once they get that bad
they only have a little time before it is too late for them to recover.

Cydectin and Ivomec kill both internal and external parasites - but not tape
worms
or liver flukes.

Ivomec Plus will also kill liver flukes, as will Valbazan.

Safeguard or Valbazan is used to treat tape worms - usually 3 times the
label
dosage, administered for three consceutive days. Do not use Valbazan on bred
or
exposed does, as it can cause abortions and birth defects.

If a goat hasn't slicked/picked up after Cydectin or Ivomec, I have used
Strongid
horse dewormer or Safeguard for tapes - have only had one dairy goat prone
to
tapes.
