Julie's story and mine

Posted by: dhaley <dhaley@...>

Julie,

When we first moved to TN we didn't have a truck and we've never owned a
van. One of my favorite does injured herself and needed stitches. The vet
wouldn't (or couldn't) come for a farm call so I had to drive 45 minutes to
Waverly to get her stitched up. I laid down a tarp in the back seat of the
car and Eleanor had a grand time laying down back there. She sat and looked
out the window just like a person and my children about died laughing at the
faces of the people as they saw us. Wouldn't you know it I got a flat tire!
My husband came to my rescue, changed the tire but said I had to get the
tire fixed before I could go home. So, we went to the vet, then through
McDonalds drive through....this is how I found out that goats like iced tea!
It was hot, we had no air conditioning and Eleanor looked thirsty, of course
I wasn't going to sacrifice milk production if I didn't need too so I
offered her a big cup of ice water. No go, she kept sniffing toward my tea,
so I offered the tea. She drank my tea and a big glass I purchased for her.
We then went to the tire repair shop...of course on main street....They
looked at me like I was out of my mind. They had a nice grassy spot next to
the repair place so I took Eleanor out for a stroll while waiting for the
repair. I actually had three people drive into the repair place to ask "is
that a goat?" Duh... Others just honked, waved, slowed down and stared.
Eleanor was very good and did not do her business in the car at all. I
loved that goat.....Deanna
