Latest Update on Rod

Just got off the phone with Rod. Here's the latest:
- Mom out of surgery. The hip was fractured 3-4 inches below the ball joint, but they were successful in plating it back together. No replacement at this point. She'll spend a few days in a practiced care facility, and then home to recuperate. No Arizona this year.
- Rod's stepfather is out of danger. After getting him to the ER and a thorough check-up it was discovered that he has NO broken bones, but does have a pretty good ding on the top of his head. Probably a mild concussion. He is sore, and will probably spend a day or two in the hospital for observation (Rod didn't say that- that is my guess) but he should be ok.
- Ember's father's update is still pending. What I do know is that he was doing his PT today and when pressed by the nurse for why he was taking so long, he replied, "Ok. I haven't been able to see out of my right eye for a couple days and it's been hard to walk" and that's how they discovered he had had a stroke DAYS AGO. That's not good- the first 8 hours after having a CVA are the most critical for recovery, so this one is gonna be hard to get over.
Rod is still out on the Olympic Peninsula, but is coming home tonight; Ember is at their home now and is waiting for updates on her dad. As soon as I know more, I will pass them along.
