Hello Hope Chest friends,

If you don't want to hear about the Learner's Journal,
go ahead and delete this now, and I apologize for
the extra mail.

The response has been great, so I'm planning
to take the Learner's Journal to the print shop
tomorrow. The books should be ready to ship
next Monday.

You can see the layout of the pages, plus
the cover and colors, at this web page:
http://www.hopechest.homestead.com/LearnersJournal.html

The resource ordering page is at:
http://www.hopechest.homestead.com/ResourceOrders.html

My main web page is at:
http://www.hopechest.homestead.com/Welcome.html

The price?
$10 per copy for 1-2
$9 per copy for 3-4
$8 per copy for 5-7
$6 per copy for 8+

Shipping is 10% with a minimum of $2.50. Florida
residents add 7% tax after computing shipping.

I would love to have lots of people order right now so I can
know how many to print, as well as provide the
upfront cash flow that such a large print job requires!
If you want to order by credit/debit card, you can use
PayPal at http://www.x.com. Specify my e-mail address
of homenews@juno.com when you pay. Also, send
me your name, address, titles and colors ordered,
amount, etc. You can order other resources at the same
time -- if so, e-mail for a final price quote after discounts.

Even if you aren't paying by PayPal, let me know
that you WILL be ordering, so I can be
sure to have the right colors on hand for you.

The following is an update on the desription of
the Learner's Journal:

The final cover colors are: Rocket Red, Lunar Blue,
Solar Yellow, Terra Green, Pulsar Pink, Ivory and Purple.
The first six colors are cardstock, but the Purple covers are
paper. All are covered by a sheet of durable plastic.
The front cover is uncluttered and attractive,
suitable for students of every age. The back
cover has nine witty and/or profound quotes
about books.

There are page spreads for 50 weeks for those who
school year round -- or those who mess up once
in a while!

The nine subject blocks on the left hand page are
2.5"x.2.25" (5.5 cm x 6 cm) each. They are each
sectioned off into five lines so you can divide the work
daily, if you wish. The six top blocks are now
labeled as follows:
Character Training
Language Arts
Math
Social Studies
Science & Health
Arts

Now there are three blank blocks for you
to label with extra subjects, supplies
needed, or comments.

The Schedule of Events (Monday - Friday)
is still at the bottom of this left page.
This part is so you can fill in any special
events, lessons, project deadlines, etc.

If you want blocks without subject headings,
let me know as soon as possible (including
your color choice) so I can special order them.

The right hand page has the Resource
Log at the top (columns for Date, Title, Author,
Format/Topic), and a smaller "Notes"
section at the bottom.

The extra pages include:
Major Resources Used
Field Trips
Special Projects & Accomplishments
Most Important Literature of the Year
Parent Planning Tips (at back of book)

If you want only the master copies of
the pages, unpunched, ready for
copying, I will sell a set of them for $3
plus shipping and tax.

I think that's all for now, though I am
probably forgetting something!

Blessings,
Virginia Knowles
