His writing isnt' that good. Instead of writing a good strong scene, he
likes to jump back and forth. That drives me to distraction. That's the
biggest thing.
The other thing is the very 'literal' translation. This, I can understand
why he did it...some people do believe it is literal, while others, like me,
believe when they talk about scorpions with stuff coiming out of their tails
is actually Blackhawk or Apache helicopters etc...
So, though it irratates me to hear about those crazy scorpions and the 'death
and descrution and struggles' aren't very realistic.....I can understaned
why...
I would think ,with as many yeras as he has, that his writing would be
better...I have to say the LAST book of his I read I was
impressed....Sometimes, when a writer is 'forced' so to speak to meet a
deadline, they have to write, whether the 'muse' is there or not...and
believe me, when you don't feel like writing, you have to finish it
anyway...and your writing can really suffer. I've put out a couple like that.
So, I am wondering if he just was purshing himself to put some of these books
out and that's why they 'feel' the way they do...other than the fact that he
doesn't know how to write a good solid suspenseful scene! agh!
