Looking for the source of a Story?

Greetings Brethren,
I once heard a story of an evangelist, maybe Charles Finney, who carried two marbles ( or stones ) in his pocket as a repesentation of the eyes of Christ. When he would reach into the pocket, he would be reminded to look on the world around him as Christ would, with compassion, lost , like sheep without a Shepherd.
My question is this; has anyone read this or can someone confirm the evangelist name, if not Finney?
