manager?

like to write and record and perform original music, both as 'solos'
with loops and such and with backing tracks of my writing.
Problem is, I'm an absolute horrible marketer/salesperson. I'm no
good at getting gigs, getting good gigs, selling my material,
basically selling myself. A secondary issue is I don't think I'm very
good at putting together the 'packaging' of myself;l should I play
more originals, more solos, more writing, I don't know, I have tons of
interest in various styles and approaches of music so I often find
myself hamstrung by trying to go in many different directions without
the time to really move forward very well
I'm thinking of trying to find someone who can 'manage' me if you
will. Someone who can look at my material and my style and help me
focus on a direction and means to move forward, someone who can go out
and get me gigs, a sales person of 'me' if you will. Someone who will
sell me for a percentage of whatever we will make
Does this make sense? Is this something people do?
