MORE on foreign adoptions

Posted by: homenews <homenews@...>

Dear Hope Chest readers,

Dixie Hillstead is a Hope Chest reader who adopted a daughter from China
in 1996. She sent me the following. Please contact her for more
information, because I don't know any more than what is here!

Blessings,
Virginia Knowles

Hi Virginia,

I am wondering if you could pass this on to your readers. It is so
important that we find a home for this girl and not let her go into the
older children's orphanage. This is from the agency we used to adopt
Chaya. It is all up front.

I was contacted by my agency today and would like to share this with all
of you in the hopes that maybe one of you can help. The agency place 23
kids this last weekend with host families and out of the 23, twenty of
the families have agreed to adopt the kids. Isn't that wonderful! But
there is one girl who is 12 or 13 whose host family will not be adopting.
My agency doesn't have a lot of information on her, she was a last minute
substitute for another child. She is very sweet, "mothering" toward the
smaller kids, the family that is hosting her says she is very well
behaved. She will be with the host family for about 3 more weeks and then
if not adopted will go to the older children's orphanage. Everyone at the
agency does not want this to happen to her, so if you or someone you know
might be interested please e-mail me and I will pass on my agency's
contact person's number.
