My destructive streak continues

Haven't read any comments lately so thought I would see who is still around.Last Sunday we had a balanced set list of Christmas music. Started off
with O Come Let Us Adore Him (Passion)- lot's of distortion. Then we were
to do 4 traditional carols, and then end with a contemporary U2 type
version of Angels From The Realms Of Glory. The problem is halfway through the first song my volume started
disappearing. I figured I was too loud (imagine that) and the sound guys
had turned me down. After the song the singers said they couldn't hear me.
I jiggled the chord a couple times and got some crackling sounds then I
went completely silent. I changed my battery just in case but my Parker
was dead. Plugged directly into the amp nothing. Checked the chord. Nope.
The group finished the set with out me - except the last song which they
need me to play.We will attempt the Angels song this Sunday. I will be playing on my short
scale Washburn electric. It hasn't seen daylight since I bought the
Parker. It is a $200 intro guitar that I rigged with Carvin pickups.
Practiced with it Tuesday night and I didn't have to change any
processor/board settings. It sounds OK, definitely not what I have become
accustomed to but I'll manage. It felt funny, like playing a mandelin with
a baseball bat for a neck. The weather is snow and ice so I haven't made it to the guitar hospital.
Sure hope the problem is in the switch. If it is in the PC board I may be
playing the mandelin... er, I mean Washburn a long time.Peace
