Nancy/commuting hubbies

Posted by: dhaley <dhaley@...>

Nancy,

Our family has gone through many changes over the past 10 years. Hubby has
worked with 10 minutes of home and now works about and hour and 15 minutes
from home. We've prayed and considered many options. I don't know that
there is any one set opinion or option for all believers. I have some
friends that know they could not handle such a commute, yet, for our family
it works out most of the time. There are times that it gets very tiring.
However, I would agree with the other person on this list that mentioned
that her hubby unwinds on the way home. This is true for my husband as
well. He has that hour driving to work to first spend time with the Lord
and then change his focus to work. He plans his morning without all the
typical interuptions he has at the office. His evening commute is the same.
He has an opportunity to think through his day and then turn his focus
toward home. It gives him a chance to unwind and have some quiet time to
himself. I think you need to pray and ask God's direction. For my husband
he feels very strongly at this time the safest place for our family is here
in the country. For us to live closer to Minneapolis would cause him more
stress due to coming war and such, than the stress of the commute. Deanna
