What I am aiming for and what the assignment suggests is proof of winemaking
practices in Jesus' time that an unbeliever would accept, perhaps from
history. The scenario in the assignment is about a preacher's kid who has
been told by her father that drinking is wrong and that wine in Jesus' time
was basically grape juice. She decides to turn against what her father has
told her and gets herself in a mess by becoming an alcoholic. Now she is
asking the question if wine was actually grape juice or fermented back then.
She is basically taking the tone of an unbeliever, so I thought if I could
find historical proof of how wine was made then, it would be good for others
who question this as well. I get asked this question a lot due to the
alcoholic recovery center at the hospital. The tone of the assignment also
suggests she is looking for a reason to keep drinking, naturally, rebelling
against God etc. Thanks for your help Chaplain Dan
