Never-Ending Peace

Posted by: bneumann848 <bneumann848@...>

For unto us a child
is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The
everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and
peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to
order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth
even for ever. The zeal of the
Lord of
hosts will perform this.
(Isaiah 9:6-7 KJV)

I have told
you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In
the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be
of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived
it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.] (John 16:33 AMP)

There is a striking difference
between the kingdom of this world and the Kingdom of Christ. Jesus said this
world will bring tribulation, trials, distress and frustration. It is a godless
world filled with godless influences and fraught with difficulties. We will not
find the peace our hearts yearn for from this world because it does not have
peace to offer. It is Satan’s kingdom (Matthew 4:8-9), and it is not our home.

Isaiah, prophesying of Jesus’
coming, said that of His peace there will be no end. The place of peace is in
the arms of Jesus. It is how Paul overcame (2 Corinthians 11:20-29); it is how
Stephen triumphed (Acts 7:55-59), and it is how
“we who have fled [to Him] for refuge might have mighty
indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope appointed for us
and set before [us].” (Hebrews 6:18 AMP)

Our thoughts and prayers are with
the families and the community of Newtown, Connecticut this Christmas season. May
you know the embrace of His presence and the peace only He can give.

Shalom
